What I am Currently Reading:
The Easy Side to Difficult People
Usually when I choose a book to read it is because my sister recommended it to me or because I've heard great comments from others. However, the book "The Easy Side to Difficult People" was initially introduced to me by my father and then my the author himself. When my father discovered that Cesar Lozano would be hosting one of his famous seminars in McAllen, Tx he immediately bought tickets for himself, my mother, my sister and I to attend. I was excited to attend the seminar because I was very curious to see what my father loved about Cesar Lozano.
During the seminar I learned about why it is important to focus on the blessings in our lives. Dr. Lozano was also a very humorous person and he made the event very enjoyable by sharing some of his personal joys and failures in a humorous way. What caught my attention the most was when he began discussing an issue that most of us deal with constantly: Dealing with difficult people. Dr. Lozano addressed the categories that describe what a "difficult" person looks like but most importantly he explained how we at one point or the other are THAT difficult person, and how we must manage ourselves in order to manage and get along with others. I became very engaged in what he was explaining that when he mentioned that he wrote a book about this topic, I begged my father to buy me one! I was truly inspired by Dr. Cesar Lozano and I am thankful that my father took my family and I to his seminar.
This book allowed me to analyze my personality and seek out opportunities in which I can improve myself and not become a "difficult" person for others. I was able to connect Dr. Cesar Lozano's perspective to my life and I apply his theories in situations where I have the opportunity to bring the best out of others. I enjoyed reading this book and if he ever publishes this book in English, I strongly encourage you to read it!
To share a little bit more about this book I provided some of the points that stood out to me the most:

To share a little bit more about this book I provided some of the points that stood out to me the most:
- You have to respect others and understand their differences.
- A leader is able to see the good in the bad. Always try to see the good things in a person and don't focus on the negatives.
- Once you know how to manage yourself and understand why people become difficult to deal with, you can communicate better, and you can help them be their best by telling them what they do right.
- By communicating efficiently and being able to understand others, you can perform at your best and work with others to deliver the best outcome. This is probably the biggest lesson from this book. We learn about the different characteristics of being a difficult person and we realize that sometimes we become that difficult person. We have to understand ourselves to really make the best out of others. We also have to realize that difficult people have difficult stories and we have to place ourselves in their shoes. Talking about our differences makes it easy understand what another person is thinking and we stop assuming stuff. This leads to a better communication which in turn brings better work performance and a better life.
